“Every experience is either a success or a lesson.” Practicing this philosophy has guided Ron along a career path that is both diverse and rewarding. Ron began his professional life as a teacher, helping students to master both academic and life skills. From there, Ron felt a calling to practice law and found success as a civil litigator, prosecutor, and judge. But no matter where his professional pursuits have taken him, Ron is still a teacher, at heart. That unyielding passion to enlighten others is the centerpiece of Ron’s approach to training in the areas of leadership development, team building, and professional readiness.
Ron is a native of New Orleans, Louisiana and began his undergraduate education at Xavier University of New Orleans. He graduated from Southern University, with an undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice and Political Science. Ron graduated from Southern University Law School in 1993, where he was a member of the Southern University Law Review and the Moot Court Board.
In 1996, Ron accepted an assistant professorship in Legal Studies at Southern University Shreveport and served as Legal Studies department chair. From 1998 to 2002, Ron was a litigation partner with the law firm of Sibley, Hall, and Stamps. In 2002, Mr. Stamps continued in private practice and worked as an Assistant District Attorney in Caddo Parish, prosecuting violent crimes. In May 2006, the Louisiana Supreme Court appointed Ron as Judge Pro Tempore for the Shreveport City Court, Division “C’. He served in this capacity from May 2006 until July 2007. He later returned to prosecution as a chief felony prosecutor, working to achieve justice for victims of violent crimes. Ron, currently, is a partner in a civil litigation firm and also works as a certified mediator.
With Bonfire Leadership, Ron works extensively in the areas of behavior intervention, mentoring youth and adults in conflict resolution, decision-making, and personal crisis management.
In his spare time, Ron works with various ministries inside and outside of his church, helping to reach diverse corners of the community. He is a passionate proponent of servant leadership and leads others in mastering its practice. As a volunteer, Ron also participates in initiatives to serve the homeless and survivors of domestic violence.
